Retiring... But Keeping Busy
Dear Members and Friends of St. John's UCC,
I have made the decision to retire from my job as executive secretary effective May 8, 2008. I will deeply miss all of you and the job that I've enjoyed so much; it has been such an integral part of my life. It's been a pleasure working with Rev. Kate and the entire staff here. I will miss all of you and your smiling faces and many hugs. People have asked me through the years if St. John's is a "friendly church," and I always reply --it is the most warm and friendly church around! I don't believe I'm being partial either. I will always remember how you have loved me and embraced me from the very day I started working here -- almost sixteen years ago. My plans are to spend more time with family, especially my grandson Eli, and be available for my daughters, Nina and Angie. I also have extended-family responsibilities. I hope to have more time to devote to my gardening and outdoor hobbies. Mike will continue to work at Good Samaritan Hospital and be just a little bit jealous of me because I will have more free time.
I will be praying for God's guidance in placing the right person to work in the office with Rev. Kate and all of you. I have counted my job here at St. John's as a blessed opportunity to serve you and our God.
Sincerely, Bert Julian
